Description--Front	Sepia image of work being done on the Barge Canal (Champlain). A sign for "Bascom, Brett & Co. Clothing, Shoes, Furnishings, Hats" appears on one building to the left of the canal. Most of the buildings are brick storefronts with awnings. A stone wall separates the two sections of the canal and a bridge is under construction over the canal. Wooden logs reinforced with planks surround the construction site. Sparse bushes line the bank to the right side of the canal.
