Description--Front	Front caption on original reads: "On August 17, 1808, the first steamboat, Rob't Fulton's "Clermont" started its famous trip up the Hudson River, and on Aug. 19th, arrived at Albany". The Clermont is depicted in the center of the image on a clear day with hills are prominent in the background. The name "Clermont" is visible on the bow with an oval inset portrait of Robert Fulton displayed on the upper left hand corner of the postcard.
