Whitney Studio Galleries
10 West Eighth St.
New York, N.Y.
My dear Mrs. Force:
I am shipping my paintings to Wm. S. Budworth and Son, New York, with instructions to unpack and deliver to the Whitney Studio Galleries. They will deliver 22 paintings in oil.
One painting will be sent direct to the galleries from Pittsburgh at the conclusion of the Carnegie International after December 9.
So much for the oil paintings.
I am also shipping to Budworth five framed water-colors to unpack and deliver to you, and I am sending to you direct, by parcel post, seven un-framed water colors and six lithographs. Four other lithographs will probably follow later.
The lithographs and water-colors you may use in any way you please, at your discretion, either in including some of them in the Christmas show or in conjunction with my show of oils later. I would like to request you to look at them all and give me your opinion.
On account of the danger and trouble of packing glass, there is only one of the five framed water-colors furnished with glass. If there is time and if it is not too much inconvenience, the favor of having someone cut the glass for the four others would be greatly appreciated. However, they may be hung without glass.
I am enclosing a list of the work with prices. I would be glad to have you advise me if the prices seem to you to be too high or too low. On the whole I believe they are reasonable.
Kindly notify me when the paintings arrive.
With best personal regards,
Very truly yours,
