Mr. Myron Lechay
194 Columbia Heights,
Brooklyn, N. Y.
Dear Mr. Lechay:
I think that you ought to apply at once for the position of teaching at the Art Students' League, and if you want to apply for the Guggenheim Foundation I think that is a good idea. I have no hope, however, that my recommendation will be of any value to you, as I have already highly recommended four painters, not one of whom has been favorably received by the Committee. My advice in that matter is to go and see Mr. Cortissoz, who, I think, acts in an advisory capacity and whose word would more likely be accepted by an organized body of men of a more or less academic point of view, which, of course, every organization has.
I hope to be able to see your picture and send you the other $100. I shall write you at the end of the Show.
Sincerely yours,
