Dear Mrs. Root:
Mrs. Davison has forwarded me your letter to her about the exhibition of the King Coit Childrens pictures. I am really very sorry but it will be impossible for us to have the exhibition this season. The repairs which were undertaken during the summer were not finished until December instead of September, as promised by the architect. That cut out two months of the exhibition season, and we have had to make up thise two months by crowding and omitting.
I regret, indeed, that this is the case and hope that you will be able to have the exhibition at some other place.
Sincerely yours,
