I received the check for $250. today toward the fund for John Sloan's picture together with your very kind letter. I agree with you absolutely about the wide spread interest and admiration for Mr. Sloan, and believe that there will be many who will like the opportunity to evidence that admiration by a small donation. The contributions are coming in every day and we hope soon to have the full amount. I think,as chairman, you ought to write the letter of presentation to the Trustees of the Metropolitan Museum, as your name would count a great deal wtih them and enhance the value of the gift in their eyes.
