"This picture was taken when we had the old building P.S. 8. In this picture I would say, it not only shows the dresses and the costumes and the boys. I think they have about forty or fifty in the classroom. I would say it would be 5A or 5B. It also shows that in those days the illumination was by gas jets. I hate to admit I'm in that picture when it speaks about the age of gas jets. The teacher is in the back of the room and as I remember her, her name was Miss Mooney. And in those days we certainly had, under her jurisdiction, pay attention to what she was teaching. It was very reminiscent of a very wonderful school... This existed in The Bronx on Mosholu Parkway between, around Bainbridge Avenue. It's a beautiful picture of olden days."
